Qudsia Shafiq Joins the Investor Advocacy Clinic

Qudsia Shafiq, a second-year law student at the Georgia State University College of Law, joined the Investor Advocacy Clinic in January 2017.  A graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Shafiq joined the clinic “because it combines my love of business, finance, consumer protection, and the law.”  Shafiq sees the Investor Advocacy Clinic’s role as threefold: (1) an educational resource for clients and the community; (2) a check on investment firms and brokers; and (3) one of only a few law firms that provides legal assistance to small investors.  Shafiq says:

“The IAC makes legal services available to average investors, those who typically need this service the most.  At the same time, unlike other law school classes, the clinic allows me to build on what I’ve learned and apply it in real-world scenarios.”
